IEC family: meeting green targets

Christophe Garnier, the new Chair of IEC TC 111: Environmental Standards for electric and electronic equipment, has more than ten years experience in Schneider Electric‘s Environmental Department.

Based in Grenoble, a city in the middle of France well-known for its “green” credentials, Garnier joined Schneider 20 years ago, as an expert in environmental life cycle assessment and the eco design of products. In that role, he has implemented the eco design of a wide range of products and his responsibilities have grown from ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards to implementation of these aspects within the research and development teams.

Garnier also led a consortium of uninterruptable power source (UPS) manufacturers to participate in one of the Product Environmental Footprint pilot programmes  of the EU Commission, from 2013 to 2018.

Garnier is dedicated to representing Schneider Electric and the French National Committee inside the IEC, as well as inside other standards bodies and associations.
