The IEC set up its Young Professional Programme (YPP) in 2010 with the aim of introducing future leaders to international standardization and conformity assessment. Since then, the YP Programme has welcomed over 500 participants from 50 countries.
The YP Programme has successfully enabled young leaders to actively participate in the standardization and conformity assessment work of the IEC. In a few cases, some have become leaders in standardization, such as Stina Wallström who is President of the IEC National Committee of Sweden and Juan Manuel Rosales Salazar who recently became President of ANCE in Mexico.
IEC leaders recognize the importance of the YP Programme. Recently, Mike Wood, Chair of IEC TC 106, and Vimal Mahendru, member of the IEC SMB, spoke about the YP Programme and its many benefits.
“The youth set the agenda”
“They’re our future leaders ”
